Webster Certified Pregnancy Care in Jackson, Michigan

Dr. Moriah Severance DC, ND is Webster Certified, and caring for women through pregnancy is the part of her work our Jackson patients know her best for. Your posture is remade month by month while you are expecting, and the low back, hips and pelvis carry most of that change, so a gentle adjustment is a drug-free way to stay comfortable while your body does its work. Dr. Moriah practices alongside her husband, Dr. David Severance DC, ND, which means the same two doctors know you from your first prenatal visit through recovery afterwards, and often on into your child's first years of care. Every appointment is shaped around the trimester you are in and how you actually feel that week, because true health is a continuous voyage, marked by sustainable transformations.

  • Easing low back and hip discomfort as your posture shifts through each trimester
  • Settling the leg and buttock pain that often arrives in the later months
  • Attention to how the pelvis sits, from a Webster Certified chiropractor
  • A drug-free and non-invasive choice at a time when your options narrow
  • Care that carries on once your baby arrives, for you and for your newborn

Questions Expecting Mothers Ask Us

Who will look after me through my pregnancy?

Dr. Moriah Severance DC, ND, our Webster Certified chiropractor, sees most of the expecting mothers who come to this office, and she is accepting new patients. Her husband, Dr. David Severance DC, ND, practices here with her, so the rest of your family can be seen in the same office. Two doctors who work side by side means one shared picture of your health rather than two separate ones.

Is it safe to be adjusted while I am expecting?

Yes. Women come to us while they are trying, while they are carrying and once their baby is here, and the adjustment is adapted each time to your stage, with positioning and pressure chosen for comfort. Because it is drug-free and non-invasive, it sits easily alongside the rest of your prenatal care. Tell us anything your midwife or obstetrician has flagged, and we will take it into account before we begin.

What does Webster Certified actually mean?

It means Dr. Moriah has completed a formal certification in the Webster Technique, a defined way of working with the pelvis and sacrum in pregnancy. We would rather you hear this plainly: the published literature is case reports and practitioner accounts describing babies settling head down, not controlled trials.* So we offer it as a gentle option worth trying, never as a promise about how your labor will go.

When is the office open, and how do I book a prenatal visit?

We see patients at 850 Laurence Ave on Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 6pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 1pm. Booking online takes a minute and shows you what is free; if you would rather talk it through first, call us on (517) 581-2785. Mothers travel in to us from Spring Arbor, Chelsea, Brooklyn and Vandercook Lake, and the Saturday morning appointments are usually the easiest of the week to plan a longer drive around.
